This code indicates the version, release, and subrelease of the value as agreed to by trading partners to override what is in the first six characters in GS08. Used only when code in GS07 is "X."
Overriding code reference applies to interchange content.
Value must be a published ASC X12 version/release/subrelease of an X12 standard.
When an ISX03 value is received in an interchange, all code value validation for code values defined by the X12 base Standard will be made against the X12 version conveyed by this element. This value overrides, for code value validation only, the first six characters of GS08 when GS07 equals "X." This applies to any functional groups contained within the interchange, and does not override the transaction set, loop, segment, or data element attributes.
In order to use ISX03, the sender must have explicit agreement of the receiver.

1
An industry or trading partner identifier for an implementation guide. This is the type of content as characters 7 through 12 of GS08. For example, VICS or X231.
C0403: If ISX-04 is present, then ISX-03 is required
When an ISX04 value is received in an interchange, all code value validation for code values defined by the X12 Standard will be made against the implementation guide conveyed by this element. ISX04 constrains the full set of codes from the X12 standard specified in ISX03.
